Dr. Robert Constant earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa.

He continued his training with a Residency in Internal Medicine at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Dr. Constant then went on to complete a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism, Dr. Constant has served as a Clinical Consultant in Endocrinology and Metabolism with the Diabetes and Endocrine Center of Orlando since 1989. Since that time, he has taken on additional responsibilities at DECO, serving as Medical Director of the Clinical Endocrine Laboratory since 1995 and as Chief Executive Officer since 1998. Earlier in his career, Dr. Constant served as the Chief of Endocrinology Service in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Constant has also held several academic appointments. He served as Attending Physician in the Endocrinology Consultation Service at the Orlando Regional Healthcare System, where he was honored with an Excellence in Teaching Award. Prior to that position, Dr. Constant was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the F. Edward Herbert College of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Medicine and Assistant Director of the Endocrine Fellowship Training Program at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas.

Active in numerous professional organizations, Dr. Constant is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and a member of the American Diabetes Association, American Medical Association and American Society of Internal Medicine. In addition, he is the author of several articles published in peer-reviewed journals, a book chapter on adrenal disease and a variety of abstracts presented at national meetings around the country.
